The Volafly app solves a bunch of problems:
There's only one app, you don't have to deal with both DJI Pilot and litchi app
A clean and simple interface
Setting for each mission and drone are written in the background
seamless integration with the flight plan management in the web app
Volafly can be currently used with the following drones:

Flight execution with Volafly
Preparing the Drone and Smart Controller
Turn on the smart controller and the drone. Launch the Volafly app while the controller is connected to the internet to update the relevant flight missions, i.e. the ones closes to your location. If you want to check flight routes from a different location, change the plant under the settings wheel in the top right corner.
Please make sure that the controller time matches your location and time zone. Wrong controller time and - date settings will cause a bunch of problems, among others:
wrongly displayed schedules
not correctly assigned data during upload
wrong assumptions on Tracking angles and solar irradiation, resulting in false analysis results
Date and Time can be updated in the system settings:
You need internet connection to update the flight routes and schedules on the controller.
You do not need an internet connection to execute the flights (once the missions are visible on the controller).
After the missions are updated, you can proceed to the starting point for your flights.
At the Starting Point
At the starting point of your plant, turn on the drone and the smart controller again. As soon as the Volafly app is launched and the drone is connected to the remote controller, the app performs several actions in the background:
1: Valid GPS signal for both the controller and the drone are expected
2: any warning from the DJI SDK are checked and displayed.
3: Battery level of drone are checked
4: check drone position, controller position and home point on the map
Apply Volateq settings
Volafly automatically applies all required drone settings for the flight. If that fails (e. g. due to a bad health condition of the drone) Volafly prompts you to retry. It is not possible to take off, if the drone settings cannot be applied.
Selecting the Flight Route
On the left, select the flight route (1) corresponding the time slot on your schedule (route names are the same).
Start flight
Once you have selected the flight route you want to execute by clicking on it, it will appear on the screen. By collapsing the mission details, the start button will become visible. Simply click the start button, and the drone will take off and follow the pre-programmed route.
1: clicking the start button in the lower left triggers the drone to lift off and execute the flight route.
Warnings are issued if:
the flight route has been created for a different drone model
the distance between take of point and first waypoint is greater than 50m
the starting time is too early or too late for the selected flight route
the health status of your drone has serious warnings
The flight cannot be executed if:
the drone battery is below 60%
the drone has no SD card
there is less than 5GB storage capacity available. (A warning will appear if there is less then 25GB available)
You can switch between different views: flight mission screen and Camera views.
Pause Mission and Resume
A flight mission can now be paused by holding the PAUSE button for 1 second.
When the mission is paused—or unexpectedly interrupted—the pilot retains full control of the drone, which will hover in place. In this state, Volafly offers two options:
Resume mission directly:
The drone continues the mission from the exact position where it was paused or interrupted.
→ Not recommended, as this may result in skipped Trackers or SCAs.Return to home or land manually, switch the battery, then resume the mission:
The drone will continue from the last completed waypoint.
Auto RTH
For safety, DJI's intelligent low-battery return-to-home feature is always active:
To avoid unnecessary dangers dangerous due to the low battery, aircraft will intelligently judge whether the current battery is sufficient according to the flight position information. If current battery power is only enough to complete the return-to-home process, MSDK will prompt whether operate the return-to-home process. If the user does not make a selection within 10s, MSDK will automatically return-to-home after 10s. During the returning process, you can short press the smart return-to-home button on the remote control to cancel the return-to-home process. Smart low battery return-to-home only occurs once during one flight. If the user cancels the low-battery return-to-home reminder and continues to fly, the aircraft may be forced to land due to insufficient power when returning, resulting in the aircraft being lost or crashed.

Nevertheless it is obligatory to monitor the battery and manually start RTH if needed – especially in strong winds.
Resume Mission
Volafly automatically sets the Resume Point at the last waypoint whenever the mission is paused or interrupted.
Set Resume Point manually
You can resume a mission from any waypoint. Click a waypoint and then “YES”. The drone will resume the selected mission from that waypoint.
Abort Mission
If you need to abort the mission (e. g. for emergency situations) either click the RTH button on your controller or hold the “ABORT”-Button for 1 second. The “ABORT”-Button switches to “PAUSE”-Button after the second waypoint. By click and hold the “ABORT”-Button the drone will interrupt the flight mission and hover. The “ABORT”-Button becomes a “GO HOME”-Button. Either fly home manually or click the “GO HOME”-Button to initiate RTH.
During the flight, it is important to avoid touching the joysticks and the zoom wheel. Any slight adjustments can unintentionally alter the flight settings, which could result in changes that may compromise the quality of the video footage, rendering it unusable for analysis. |

In case of unexpected behaviour or error warnings, please send us the log files!
Press the gear icon in the top right corner of the controller (when it's connected to the internet) and then select "Send Log Files” (2)
Data upload
Data upload with Volafly (Recommended)
Not available for drone model Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced
Make sure the remote controller is connected to the internet, and insert the SD card into the remote controller while Volafly is open. Volafly will automatically detect the files on the SD card and select the appropriate analysis.
Press “UPLOAD” to start the upload
Data upload with Web App
Log into Volateq Webapp. https://app.volateq.de/
Click “Analyses” in the menu bar and click the relevant analysis:
In the analysis click upload, browse or drag&drop all files from the drone’s SD card, including all mp4 and srt file types. Then Click “Upload”
Volateq is automatically notified if upload is complete.
