Dashboard - Thermography: KPI and PPA
Overview
The Thermography KPI and PPA Dashboard gives solar plant operators a consolidated view of the key performance indicators (KPIs) derived from the latest thermographic drone inspection. It also allows operators to simulate the financial impact of detected faults by entering a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) rate, so that energy losses can be expressed in monetary terms.
What is Displayed
KPI Summary
The dashboard presents the main KPIs extracted from the thermographic analysis, giving operators a quick overview of the health status of the plant and the scale of detected faults.
PPA Rate Input
Operators can enter the plant's PPA rate (price per kWh) directly in the dashboard. Once set, all energy losses calculated from thermographic faults are translated into estimated financial losses.
Financial Loss Simulation
After entering the PPA rate, the dashboard calculates and displays the estimated revenue loss attributable to the detected thermal faults, based on the affected capacity and the energy loss associated with each fault type.
How to Use the Dashboard
1. Check Your KPIs
Open the Thermography KPI and PPA Dashboard from the plant's dashboard section. The top area displays the current KPI metrics derived from the latest thermographic inspection flight.
2. Enter Your PPA (Power Purchase Agreement)
To activate financial loss calculations:
Locate the PPA Rate input field in the dashboard.
Click Add a PPA rate.
Enter your PPA rate value (price per kWh) in the input field.
Confirm the input to update all financial calculations across the dashboard.
3. Review Your Results
Once the PPA rate is set, the dashboard will display:
Estimated energy losses per fault category.
Total simulated financial loss based on the PPA rate and detected faults.
An updated KPI view reflecting the monetary impact of thermographic findings.
Key Assumptions
Fault-based loss estimation: Financial losses are estimated from the energy loss associated with each fault type identified during the thermographic analysis.
Static PPA rate: The PPA rate is applied uniformly across all calculations. Time-of-use pricing or seasonal variations are not modeled.
Latest flight data: All KPIs and calculations are based on the most recent thermographic inspection available for the plant.
